The Vancouver Amateur Netball Association (VANA) runs two netball leagues each year; fall (Sept - Dec) and winter (Jan - Apr).  The next league starts off with a fun and friendly Playday on September 20, 2008. 

There are three divisions in the VANA league: A, B and C. A-league players who have lived in BC for longer than a year, can trial for provincial and national teams to compete in national and international competitions and tournaments.

Comets is the premier netball club on the North Shore.  We are the newest addition to the VANA league, the fastest growing club and also the only club active all year.  

Comets will enter at least one team in each division of the league this season: A, B and C. Comets entered 3 teams into the 2008 winter league:  The Titans in the B, while Galaxy and Zodiacs entered the C division.  

Comets trials are held to determine how many players will enter the league, as we may enter a forth team in one of the divisions. Trials are also to divide players into teams and there will definitely be a team for each player trialing.

Comets club doesn't have any mens teams (yet). There is no mixed league at the moment, but mens teams are playing in the A-division against other A-league teams.

Comets is also proud to announce that Legacies 2010 Now is sponsoring and supporting Comets to start a Comets Youth Team to join the Vancouver Youth league. These girls (age 13 - 18) can also trial for zone, provincial and national teams to take part in the zone, provincial, national and international competitions.

The youth program will be presented by the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, held at Sutherland High School, and coached by Comets players. Comets players interested in coaching youth teams, will soon be getting an opportunity to brush up on their coaching skills to coach these young and upcoming Comets stars!  Please Email nsnetball@hotmail.com for more info.
